ManpowerGroup started in Milwaukee in 1948 with a good idea: making employees available temporarily. What started as a solution for a secretary who had become ill grew into a global company that offers various labor market solutions.
In the decades that followed, we introduced innovative concepts such as the Employment Outlook Survey and emphasized our social responsibility: work is one of the most essential things in life and we offer opportunities, even if people are not yet immediately employable.
In 1970, we opened our first branch in the Netherlands and in the years following added several brands to the portfolio.
